Comprehensive Eyecare

Everyone needs regular eye exams. It’s important for adults to schedule eye exams to monitor their eye health and check for problems. Conditions that are often detected during eye exams include glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. Early detection of these conditions allows for the widest range of treatment options and the best chance of slowing or reversing any symptoms.

Pediatric Vision Care

Here at Mountain View Eye, we are proud to announce that we are a part of InfantSEE®, a public health program, managed by Optometry Cares® – the AOA Foundation. This program is designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life.

Myopia Control

If your child’s prescription for nearsightedness is continually getting worse, it’s more than an inconvenience. Myopia can be aggressive. Incidence rates of myopia have experienced a drastic rise, and aggressive or progressive myopia is rapidly increasing as well.

Scleral Lenses

Some people have specific eye conditions that prevent them from seeing well with eyeglasses or conventional contact lenses.  This can be so severe that it prevents them from driving, working, or even functioning normally in their everyday life.  At Mountain View Eye we fit contact lenses that can help these patients see.

Dry Eye Management

Dry eye syndrome refers to a breakdown in the quantity or quality of tears to moisten, cleanse and protect the eyes. This is significant because, with each blink, tears protect the surface of the eye, washing away dust and microorganisms. When this protective coating dries up, the eyes may feel “gritty” or burn and can be more sensitive to light. In many cases, vision can be blurred.

Cataract Co-Management

Cataracts cause a clouding of the lens in the eye, making your vision appear to be foggy. Cataracts are the most common cause of vision loss in people over 40 and are the leading cause of blindness in the world.

Glaucoma Management

Glaucoma occurs with damage to the eye’s optic nerve and can often lead to loss of vision and blindness. We recommend annual eye exams for anyone over the age of 40, as early detection decreases your risk of serious vision loss.

Macular Degeneration Management

Macular degeneration is the deterioration of the central portion of the retina, the inside layer of the eye that records the images we see and sends them through the optic nerve from the eye to the brain for processing.
