Comprehensive Eye Exam

The doctors at Mountain View Eye are trained to utilize advanced technology and techniques to examine and diagnose patients. Our patients will receive a thorough evaluation of both the health of their eye as well as their vision. The exam starts with a review of your personal medical history and any symptoms you are currently experiencing. With state of the art medical equipment we are able to check your vision and examine your eyes for any medical diseases. We have widefield retinal imaging so no more burning eye drops, that is unless you are over 50, have a medical diagnosis, or have a high glasses prescription. We also have a quick and painless insrtument that does not blow air at you to measure the pressure of your eyes.

There are two types of comprehensive eye exams- Routine and Medical. A routine exam means there is not a medical diagnosis, but will have a vision diagnosis instead. These diagnoses include myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia. Routine vision exams will be billed to a patient’s vision insurance plan if one is available and if we participate in it. If a medical diagnosis (cataracts, glaucoma suspect, foreign body, diabetes, dry eye, etc.) is determined by the doctor, the exam in no longer routine, but medical. This means we will bill your medical health plan. We will request a copy of your medical insurance card at the beginning of your exam for these reasons.

Our exams will cover all aspects of your vision and eye health. We always strive to educate you, the patient, as we go so there is a clear understanding of the care and treatment you receive.

Schedule your appointment to give yourself the advantage of comprehensive and personalized care.
